Train Life

This picture speaks from a very personal perspective since by chance the place of my birth, Solingen, Germany, and Lethbridge share a strong common visual feature: a very high railway bridge.

While Lethbridge's trestle bridge with 95m is the highest of its kind in the world, the so-called Muengsten bridge with 107m is the highest train bridge in Germany (not a trestle but slightly older).

The sound and the sight of trains was a steady companion throughout my life - not only by where I lived but the train was always my preferred way to travel (besides a ship).

This frame in a frame composition works as a geographical distillate of my life.

These are only a few of my photo-poems. The constantly expanding collection you find on my Youtube channel. You can just watch them silently or with the sound on.
